Steady Hands
04:54
|
|
||
The pipes in the ceiling remind me my head's under water.
The cracks in the floor boards remind me I can still lose my feet.
And everyone of my actions, they are left pending.
To match all my thoughts and then come out to be your relief.
I don't know what I do much worse
Then watch all my blessings not become cursed.
I need a steady hand to hold me down.
So I'll bleed all my hypocrisy until it all comes out.
And I'll feed on the truth as if I didn't have a doubt:
That I need a steady hand to hold me down.
The leaves from my front tree remind me my skin is on trial.
The weeds that surround them remind me I only have time.
But everything from this point will be resurrected
To wash all my bones and to feel all those memories fly.
The water pulled the leaves down and they settled in the cracks.
Even amidst all my scars, I could never look back.
Because we all grow too quick, just like a weed.
Attack what you have now or it will always grow back.
It will always grow back.

Compromise
04:08
|
|
||
Slowly you swallow up all their lies and half truths
and slowly they become part of you.
This cancer has metastasized, it eats you alive from the inside.
Deceit is showing though.
Oh, I don't know the moment I began to compromise.
It snuck up
Subtle
From behind.
When there are no absolutes, can anything be called true?
Is it all perception? Subjective to a point of view?
I refuse to fall in line. For the truth can't be confused.
Because without truth, what can we hold on to?
Oh, I don't know the moment I began to compromise.
It snuck up
Subtle
From behind
Oh, until I know, these false pretenses I will leave behind,
with veracity at side.

What If
03:15
|
|
||
The world, it blew past all numb ears and lips.
They heard a song and didn't feel much for it then.
We crave to know the bitter ins and outs of loneliness,
And why it counts us all as friends.
But what if you wanted to try it all again.
Far from the blinded that led you in.
Searching on your own.
Claiming all new hope.
Questions are tearing at the walls that scream,
"I am captivating- Don't make me fall!"
Running without a path doesn't seem logical,
But it's typical, bet you didn't that all your steps are retraceable.
What if you wanted to try it all again.
Far from the blinded that led you in.
Searching on your own.
Claiming all new hope.
Everything He gave us--
You can have it now.
Take off your prideful eyes and just reach for it.
Just reach out.
What if you wanted to try it all again.
Well do you want it?
What if you wanted to try it all again.
Far from the blinded that led you in.
Searching on your own.
Claiming all new hope.

Take It All Away
03:26
|
|
||
When did we become defined by the things that we long for?
When will we realize that we are so much more?
This selfish pursuit that we misconstrue as the quest for happiness,
Leaves us empty and hollow as we aimlessly follow the search for more and more.
You can take it all away.
You can burn it to the ground.
It may be the only way for us to look around.
Holding out arms, letting go of all that kept me alone and empty.
Free me from the tyranny of self interest and greed.
Free me from the consuming selfishness. God, please save me.
I feed the need yet I don't succeed to quell this hunger that just won't leave.
I will search incessantly until I find what I need.
Take it all away.
You can burn it to the ground.
It may be the only way for us to look around.
And see more than ourselves, see what we could be.
To think of someone else instead of what's in it for me.
Holding out arms, letting go of all that kept me alone and empty.
I saw it claim me.
I felt it drain me.
Fists up to chain me.
And it became me, it became me.
Holding out arms, letting go of all that kept me,
But I turned around and stood
Holding out arms, letting go of all that kept me alone and empty.

Reclaim Your Crown
04:30
|
|
||
I can hear you calling out my name.
Yet I choose to turn away.
I see you trying to guide me, here right beside me.
All along the way, yet I choose to stray.
Why is it so hard to fall into your arms?
Is it so hard to trust that you're right there?
Help me to see you.
Help me to believe.
Help me hear your whisper and know that it's for me.
And that it's for all your people falling down.
We're burning bridges.
Reclaim your crown.
Once again it seems I've lost my way
In all the different shades of grey.
I get so busy chasing shadows near and far
That I forget who you really are.
Why is it so hard to fall into your arms?
Is it so hard to trust that you're right there?
Help me to see you.
Help me to believe.
Help me hear your whisper and know that it's for me.
And that it's for all your people falling down.
We're burning bridges.
Reclaim your crown.
All I've known is all I can see.
Falling short of what I should be.
Won't you help me? Can't you take me?
Or is all my time spent wasting slowly?
I'm crawling out of my hole.
I'm taking down my signs.
My mouth has been sewn shut.
Now it's time to open wide.

Carry Me, Carry You
05:16
|
|
||
I don't know all the places you've been.
But I can feel you in my arms again.
Dark waters creeping up with the breeze.
But soon the tide will settle, set you free.
You've asked me lately, "Who's gonna save me next time?"
I answered, "Baby, your thoughts and your falls are forever mine...
When all you had was lost at sea,
I will welcome you home.
And when you feel your feet will sink,
I will welcome you home.
When gravity just breaks your knees,
I will welcome you home.
When all your hopes can't hold your dreams,
I will help carry your load."
I saw you bearing weight, beat and bruised.
And I could hear you calling out to me.
I'll carry you and later you'll carry me too.
All of this give and take, it's what we do.
I've asked you lately, "Who's gonna save me this time?"
You answered, "Baby, your thoughts and your falls are forever mine...
When all you had was lost at sea,
I will welcome you home.
And when you feel your feet will sink,
I will welcome you home.
When gravity just breaks your knees,
I will welcome you home.
When all your hopes can't hold your dreams,
I will help carry your load.
....and I will help carry you."
